FAIR-H2 group receives beamtime at the BESSY II synchrotron
24. – 31. March 2025
Berlin, Germany
Dr. Patrick Schühle, leader of the SINATRA junior research group FAIR-H2, and his coworker Phillip Nathrath had the opportunity to conduct measurements at the HIKE endstation of the KMC-1 beamline of the BESSY II synchrotron in end of April 2025.
The goal of the experiments was to understand the influence of phosphorus on supported group 10 metal (Ni, Pd, Pt) catalysts, which are highly relevant for reactions in the field of hydrogen production, storage and conversion.
During this week they collected a lot of valuable data that will advance their research and support future publications.
The junior research group FAIR-H2 would like to thank the dedicated researchers and staff at Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin, namely Roberto Felix Duarte, Johannes Frisch, Angelo Perez Rillera and Marcus Bär, for their expertise, patience and tireless support throughout the application process and experiments.
Patrick and Phillip were accompanied by another colleague, Adrian Seitz, who is working on a different project. The research stay was financed by non-SINATRA funds.
